  •  Our 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year personal and professional attention and care of your loved one
  • Help and advice regarding where to register a death and all certification required
  • Personal consultation from our professional, fully trained, knowledgeable and empathetic staff to discuss the planning of the funeral service arrangements, including the attendance of a Funeral Director on the day
  • Coordination and liaison on your behalf with doctors, hospitals, cemeteries, crematoriums (whichever apply), clergy or celebrants, HM Corner’s (where applicable)
  • The completion and submission of all necessary statutory and necessary paperwork and telephone calls relating to the funeral
  • Arranging and management of the payments of all 3rd party fees and disbursements on your behalf
  • Professional guidance and advice on ordering floristry and floral tributes, funeral stationery and printing requirements such as orders of service and pre-purchased funeral plans throughout and after the funeral service has taken place, should you require
  • The receiving and care of all floral tribute’s
  • Setting up of online or death notice (obituary) tributes
  • The setup, receiving and distribution of charitable donations to charities of yours, or your loved one’s choosing

Funeral Directors Southampton Divider

Disbursements are the costs of a funeral that the funeral director collects on behalf of third parties, such as doctors’ fees or celebrant fees.

The funeral director will liaise with these providers to arrange the cremation or burial of your loved one and everything else you need for a fitting tribute to them. Disbursements are added to the total funeral bill but your funeral director should provide a clear break down of all of these costs before you agree to them. As these costs are collected for third parties it is important to remember that the prices of the services provided can rise and are out of the control of the Funeral Director. Disbursement fees are payable at the time of arranging the funeral or once a quotation has been provided and agreed.


Disbursements include:

Cremation fee - this is the cost of the cremation itself.

Burial fees - Grave fee - the fee for the purchase of a grave.

Grave opening fee - this is the fee for the opening of a grave purchased or a grave already purchased.

Interment fee

New grave fee

Doctors certificates - Doctors’ fees - a two part form that is required by law to be completed by two doctors in order for a cremation to take place (this fee is not applicable if the death is being dealt with by the coroner).

Minister/ Celebrant fee - a fee for a minister or celebrant to take a funeral service.

Newspaper notice - announcement to be published in the newspaper.

Southampton Crematorium

Southampton Crematorium is nestled in a beautiful and peaceful woodland setting, Southampton Crematorium and the surrounding Gardens of Remembrance are a perfect location for celebrating and commemorating the life of a loved one.


The gardens include woodland paths, glades and water features, creating a serene natural environment for you to gather your thoughts before or after your service. They are designed to accommodate a wide range of memorials. 


As the longest serving crematorium in Southampton, they have a wealth of experience delivering unique, personalised services for a wide range of faith, needs and traditions. Southampton Crematorium have two chapels available for large or small ceremonies, both of which have a dedicated chapel attendant who will be on hand to ensure your service runs smoothly. For services where larger numbers are expected we can arrange an outside speaker broadcast. Both chapels are fitted with induction loops for those guests who are hard of hearing.

Wessex Vale Crematorium opened in December 2009 to serve the communities of Eastleigh borough and surrounding communities. Privately owned, Wessex Vale aims to provide an exemplary level of service within beautifully landscaped gardens. The newly landscaped grounds incorporate a peaceful memorial garden for you to visit for quiet reflection. These gardens are open 7 days a week throughout the year.


Wessex Vale feel that it is essential that you are able to hold the funeral of your choice and our chapel can be altered, with prior arrangement, to create a suitable environment for a service of any religion or belief.

Test Valley Crematorium - Romsey

In the heart of the Hampshire countryside, Test Valley Crematorium provides a natural place for families to hold the dignified service of their choice. Set on the edge of Romsey, the new service has been especially designed in the local rural character so it blends into the countryside, offering a place of peace and seclusion, so important for a funeral. The chapel is light & spacious, built in the traditional red brick with picture windows along one side to frame the magnificent views beyond.
